Signs You Are Here!

There’s no getting lost or confused at Children’s Hospital.

Wayfinding for visitors is organized in an airport-style system. This means all destinations are designated on the directory by a floor and a letter. Outside the elevators on each floor are prominent directional signs.

At the Ambulatory Center on Floor 3, for example, wayfinding is lively, colorful and direct, using letters and animals to help adults and involve children. A is for Alligator. B is for Bear. C is for Cow. D is for Dog. E is for Elephant. F is for Frog. G is for Giraffe. H is for Hippopotamus. When signing in, patients are given a letter and an animal name that indicates which corridor to go down to find one of the more than 100 exam rooms for specialty services.
