| Practice Overview
Established in 1974, Children's
Community Pediatrics Moon & Wexford is a medical group
practice specializing in pediatric and adolescent medicine from
birth through the teenage years. Our mission is to provide high-quality
medical care for our patients, which means more than being knowledgeable
and well-trained in pediatric medicine. It also means communicating
well and having a positive relationship with our patients and their
parents. In addition to treating medical problems, we provide preventive
"well child" health care, including developmental and
behavioral assessments and counseling.
In 1996 our practice, formerly RJP&A Pediatrics,
partnered with Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and four other
well-established community pediatric practices to create Children's
Community Pediatrics. We have five female physicians, a female
nurse practitioner and five male physicians a real benefit
for our adolescent patients. Patients have the option to choose
one particular
physician in our practice. We work as a team and strive to provide
consistent care, consulting frequently with each other to discuss
advances and changes in medical care.
We believe in preventive health care with a strong
emphasis on patient and parent education. Children's Community Pediatrics-
Moon & Wexford follows the recommendations of the American Academy
of Pediatrics for routine check-ups, immunizations, diagnostic screenings
and appropriate counseling at each age period, from birth through
adolescence.
Our staff provides the high quality pediatric
and adolescent primary care you expect from a Children's Hospital
affiliate. In addition to our experience with acute and chronic
medical problems, our medical staff is educated and trained to provide
expertise in several areas.
